As Chaplins approaches its 50th anniversary, this Aladdin's Cave of retail delight is still overseen by its founder Lynda Thompson whose eye for a bargain and understanding of her customers' needs have underpinned the store's success from the outset. Lynda is passionate about her plants and can usually be found in the store's extensive Garden Centre. Lynda is well supported by her daughter Vanessa Chaplin who combines buying, marketing and advertising, looking after the Christmas Grotto, and other in-store promotions with overseeing her beloved pet care department. 2015 sees Vanessa celebrating 30 years in the family business while the Taunton store has achieved its 21st anniversary at the same time.

We've been established over 40 years, and have served the Doncaster community throughout that time. We stock everything from timber, made to measure fencing, garden supplies, building supplies, decorating supplies, plumbing and electrical supplies - basically everything you could possibly need. We can also order provide a cutting service for timber, a delivery service if you can't get what you need home, and can order special, non-stocked items / supplies if required. We have also started offering doors, both internal and external, on a made to measure basis.
